  • It was introduced in 1937.

  • It was to improve the health and welfare of young New Zealanders (and use up surplus milk).
  • Free milk stopped in 1967.
  • It helped kids get calcium in their teeth and their bones to keep help them stay healthy.
  • It was introduced in 2006.
  • It was free.
  • Some schools have fruit to help help kids with natural hygiene.
  • It was a response to the 2002 Child Nutrition Survey, which found that only 40% of children ate the recommended servings of fruit a day (two pieces).
  • You had to be a smoke free school to get fruit like we do.
  • They started sending fruit to the schools it was all about healthy eating.
  • It helped kids to stay healthy.
