Handshake

Problem Solving
LI: To use my number knowledge to help me choose the best strategy to solve this problem

Work with a friend to solve this problem from the transum website. Once you have done this you will need to make a screen recording to show your thinking.

Which means that the answer is 351
Explain:
There are 27  students in room 9, and if 2 students shook hands with each other that would relate to 1 handshake. So if 3 students shook hands that would calculate up to 3 handshakes and you keep going, the answer would be 351.

Answer: 351

This is a maths problem solving activity that Asmah and I have done. It was to calculate how many handshakes will there be with 27 students in Room 9 A.K.A. Awesome class.
Asmah and I have worked collaboratively.

Rapids

Rapids
LI: To identify the rhyme in the poem

At the early day of springBeyond forest where nightingale will sing
Beyond castle of a ghost of forest
king
The great river started as a lively
spring

The river in tributaries
grew
Pushing it way
through
Carving canyons and valleys
too
So strong on very canvas of earth it
drew

But soon this awesome run turns into mild
jog
The river winds disappearing somewhere in a
fog
It turns into a large
bog
Barely strong enough to push a
log

The swamp is vital to
ecology
And it’s secretive and full of
majesty
But I miss river’s
intensity
On my soul it left enchantment and
history

I admire its
beauty
As I watch I feel something
eerie
And I think I hope to use that
history
To change the very momentum of chaos and
biology

The River

The River
LI: To explore the emotion and metaphor in the poem

The River’s a wanderer,
A nomad, a tramp
He doesn’t choose one place
To set up his camp

The River’s a winder
Through valley and hill
He twists and he turns
He just cannot be still

The River’s a hoarder
And he buries down deep
Those little treasures
That he wants to keep

The River’s a baby
He gurgles and hums
He sounds like he’s happily
Sucking his thumbs

The River’s a singer
As he dances along
The countryside echoes
The notes of his song

The River’s a monster
Hungry and vexed
He’s gobbled up trees
And he’ll swallow you next

My Orientation

LI: Write an orientation that hooks the reader in.

As strange as it may seem I just looked in horror as I found myself driving off the shore into the freezing cold water. I was so sure that I put my breaks on or had I ? Unfortunately for me I realised that instead of putting the handbrake on I accidently put it into gear which made me go straight into the water! "Uh ohh!" I gasped for air as I glanced at my brand new truck sinking into the water. I was wondering what would happen next. I had all my belongings in the truck! As I wondered what would happen next I rang the Tower Company and crossed my fingers and hoped that I had paid the car insurance!
